Sue at Your Yoga Experience has quite honestly changed my life!! I used to dread the thought of exercising and have to force myself to go the the gym...now I literally can’t wait for my yoga and pilates PTs! Sue is a knowledgeable, patient and highly skilled trainer who knows just how to motivate her clients best....but we’re not just her clients, her lovely caring nature means we’re friends too!!
I originally came to Sue for pilates training for a back injury- not only did she have that fixed in a matter of weeks, she had me completely addicted to the health and fitness benefits of yoga and pilates! The new Your Yoga Experience studio is fantastic!!! Such a perfect environment for Yoga and Pilates! Stunning views out over Pendle, top quality equipment and a private, calm and peaceful space where all feel welcome!!!
Wow! My first experience of Yoga and who else to trust to guide me through ? Sue is such a caring soul with so much knowledge and love for Yoga. I left feeling relaxed but so full of motivation to learn and improve. Thankyou Sue, it's good to be back on the mend xx
I’ve been doing yoga training with Sue since October last year. I was suffering with lower back pain, tennis elbow and RSI in both of my wrists, due to work. I can honestly say after 4 sessions of yoga, a couple of PT sessions at the gym, my back felt much better, my tennis elbow went and the pain in both of my wrists healed. Fantastic instructor, would highly recommend
Attended a yoga workshop yesterday. Despite my worries about being a complete beginner, the sessions were accessible for all of us. Absolutely loved the afternoon so thanks to all involved - Sue, Nitya and John! Would recommend to anyone
First experience of Yoga was amazing the room is perfect and Sue Kennedy made the experience relaxing and enjoyable with her knowledge and teaching skills !
Absolutely amazing yoga experience, Sue is a fantastic teacher.....along with a new, beautiful, yoga room....just perfect

Had a fabulous yoga day at the new yoga studio. A lovely relaxing place and I am looking forward to trying out the new yoga classes.
After an awful year, your yoga experience have absolutely helped me change my life and my perception. I started yoga around 9 months ago with Sues beginners class. Sue is an absolute inspiration of a lady. So strong and helpful in everyway. All the yoga instructors are fantastic and all have their own different ways and techniques. I cannot explain how much yoga and the team at FX have helped me and made me feel so much better health wise and mentally stronger. Yoga is my new medication! See you in Shavasana! Victoria W.
I have been going to your yoga for around a year now. From the very first session I had and although I had only very briefly tried yoga before, I felt comfortable and at home, with the amazing instructors ability to put everyone at ease! They all do such a good job of welcoming all abilities. I feel it has helped me in both body and mind and I couldn’t be more happy to have found your yoga. I love this place! Caroline Greenwood
Sue is an amazing, adaptable instructor who is personal, patient, professional and above all very encouraging and super entertaining. She always push’s me to my limits whilst still putting a huge smile on myface. Your Yoga Experience is great for the mind and body and has helped me in so many ways.
Sue’s teaching has completely transformed my yoga practice . In classes she clearly and intelligently directs my awareness so that I can appreciate the purpose of each asana and have a stronger connection with my body and the movement of energy through it. Sue encourages us to be curious and explore postures, not to adopt a one size fits all approach, making for safer practice and teaching. The classes are intense, the work goes deep and stays in the body long after class is over!! Whether you are a beginner or experienced yoga student, I find Your Yoga has a unique ability to nurture, motivate, and share their extensive yoga knowledge with a dose of humour making any of the classes a rewarding experience. Sue has a gift of making everyone feel at ease and is full of lots of info and positive energy and I always leave feeling great. I look forward to my yoga classes each week and have felt the benefits of attending. Classes are attended by people who range from beginners to advanced level, yet the teachers are able to focus on each individual and get the best out of everyone so each person can progress within the same class at their own level. I’d highly recommend Your Yoga classes to anyone wishing to progress or start their Yoga journey.
Your yoga is a feel good exercise yet challenging work out. Giving you that time in the day to dedicate some you time & love to the body. Sue & the team are always efficient, supportive and delightful to be around. Taking part in 5 classes a week, always brings me so much fire in soul & the mind is at peace - all while keeping the body active. I can’t thank them enough for the way they make me feel in more ways than they know. Their AWESOME !
After being diagnosed with MS in 2015, I was advised to try yoga. I was hesitant at first as I’ve never done yoga, I’m not flexible and some of the moves look ridiculously impossible. I wasn’t even able to touch my toes, let alone manage a headstand or the wheel! A friend encouraged me to join her at Your Yoga at FX Fitness and I loved it from the moment I walked into the room. The instructors are enthusiastic, friendly and very encouraging - which is what you need some days! My Mum has now joined and we attend two classes together as well as separately. I love how much I’ve improved since I started. That feeling you get when you nail a move that you once thought impossible is an amazing feeling!
I have been going to the classes at your yoga since the studio opened in 2018, as a runner I had been prone to getting tight muscles that can lead to injury. I’m not the most flexible person nor do you have to be to start but my flexibility has defiantly improved. All of the teachers are exceptionally tuned into the students and adapt postures accordingly. Since incorporating Yoga into my training I feel stronger, more flexible and more relaxed with a clear mind whilst getting some much needed me time.
I came to learn about Your Yoga from a friend. This came about as at the time I was off work with Sciatica which was very debilitating and movement was very limited. I had seen a private sports physio and he had given me exercises to do, which did help to some extent. My friend kept sending me links for various yoga sites on you tube which I never really did as I had no experience of yoga and didn’t want to do anything to jeopardise my recovery. She then sent me a link for FX fitness telling me to download the app as there was a two hour beginner’s course on Saturday morning. I downloaded the app and booked on the course. The environment was calming and relaxing. You could feel the positive energy when you walked in. the room. Sue was teaching the course. She was amazing. She put me at ease from the start, gave me various postures to do which would benefit my recovery and I was hooked immediately. I just love how Yoga makes me feel not only physically but mentally. I then booked onto the eight week beginner’s course and the rest is history as they say. I now attend classes 3 to 4 times a week and feel that my physical and mental well-being improves every time I’m on my mat. I have met some amazing teachers and have made new friends. I feel like I have gained a new lease of life and now belong to this amazing yoga family.
Meet The Team
Director of Your Yoga Experience
Sue had a passion for Yoga when she was 11 years old. She taught herself and practiced every night for 5 years. In her early 20s Sue qualified as an aerobics and Step instructor and taught exercise to music classes in the local and Manchester area. As a busy mother with three children and a husband who worked abroad, she had little time to continue teaching and concentrated on her family. However all the aerobic and running (which she did a lot of ) took its toll on Sue's knees and after her last marathon in 2015, she concentrated more on teaching Yoga and Pilates as well as Personal Training. Sue's passion is Yoga and Pilates and Personal Training and she loves to teach the more mature clients. With so many years of teaching it has given Sue the knowledge and first hand experience of dealing with many different health related conditions.
Aimee’s yoga journey began in her early teens when she took a course delivered at her high school, since then she has practiced all over the world and completed her first yoga teacher training in Mysore, India in 2015. To develop her teaching practice, Aimee took the opportunity to teach yoga in a Moroccan surf camp. Creating yoga sequences for surfers further solidified Aimee’s belief that yoga is for everyone and complements every lifestyle and sporting activity. Aimee has recently spent time practicing yoga in Bali and Goa and took part in workshops and training delivered by prominent figures in the yoga community. Yoga is ingrained in her each and every day and a force which continually inspires Aimee to journey towards the best version of herself. Yoga invites us to shine a torch within, tune in and create space so that we may see the beauty in the everyday. Our body, mind and heart is our home; yoga helps us to connect and strengthen ourselves both physically and mentally.
Briony qualified in Manchester with HFE. She 'found' yoga in May 2015 when she was feeling really down and wanted an alternative to anti-depressants. Since then Briony's purpose has shifted so she now practices for both physical and mental strength. I seek to share my passion and deepen the practice of others in a fierce and positive way. In my classes I like to combine a spirit of playfulness with creative sequences as well as breath practice to deepen the mind, body and soul connection - Briony x
“Scott's journey into yoga began as an acting student in New York where his movement teacher prescribed yoga to correct alignment and breathing for the stage, freeing the body and enabling it to be more sensitive and responsive. Since then, Scott has gained his Yoga Teacher Training Certificate in Rishikesh, India (200 RYT, Yoga Alliance) and completed his Mindfulness Teacher Training with Suryacitta (at Mindfulness CIC, UK). Scott teaches and has taught many students in different stages of their journey of self realisation: children with ASC, adult beginners, recovering addicts and the visually impaired. He believes in the power of yoga to heal and release tension of the mind and body and has seen the impact on his students but, more importantly, himself. Always practicing what he preaches, Scott delivers strong yoga classes that challenge the mind and the body, but also informative and relaxing meditations that gently guide students to their inner quiet.”
I first discovered Yoga just over eight years ago and my passion for the practice has deepened throughout the years. In 2016, I left the Ribble Valley to go volunteering and travel. Thailand was my first destination and there I taught Yoga for three months in an Orphanage and a Burmese Refugee School; here my passion to teach others about the practice really began. My path then lead me to India for two months where I studied and carried on teaching the practice of yoga. After seven months of traveling I then went to study Yoga Full time in Seville. Feeling inspired and with a whole new level of enthusiasm to teach the mind, body and soul practice I came back to the Ribble Valley ready to share my love for Yoga with everyone. My teachings come from the heart, allowing you to fully connect with your very own practice and ensuring you will leave classes feeling nurtured and refreshed.
Is yoga for me?
Yes, yoga is for everyone and all ages (over 16) but it’s about choosing the right class to suit you – you may want to try a few different classes to find one that you enjoy the most. Here at Your Yoga Experience we focus on the small things that make your experience enjoyable and our room is heated for each class so it will either be warm or hot in the room. If you have never done a yoga class in your life or you’re an experienced Yogi, we have a class for you. Yoga is not about being the most flexible and bendy person, though the more you practice, the more flexible you will become and you’ll be able to get deeper into the poses the more you practice. Just start from where you are now and see where it can take you. We understand being a beginner can be intimidating but come with an open mind as well as a willing attitude. Experience and flexibility are not necessary… you just need enthusiasm and a little positive energy and a smile! If you’re experienced or an intermediate at yoga – our classes are for you too. Our teachers will ensure you get the most from your practice and will help you progress at each session. We focus on detail of the postures and create a unique environment specifically for Yoga or Pilates. Yoga takes time and cannot be learnt in one class. It’s a lifelong learning process because, ultimately, it is learning about yourself. If you can approach a yoga class with an open mind, the benefits will come easily and we know you’re going to love it here at Your Yoga.
What do I need to do before the class?
It’s essential that you pre-book all your classes using the online booking link on this page or download our App ‘FX and Your Yoga Experience ‘. Please aim to arrive 10 minutes before your class to allow time to get settled in the room. Yoga mats are provided or your can bring your own. The yoga studio is located upstairs to the right as you enter the building. Lockers and toilets are located downstairs. Arriving late can disturb everyone else’s yoga practice. Try not to eat a big meal in the 2-3 hours beforehand, you want to feel light! That said, you do need to have eaten earlier in the day as the heat in the room could make you feel lightheaded.
What do I need to wear?
Wear something comfortable and be prepared for the heat in the room. Temperatures can reach up to 40 degress Celsius. A few layers is ideal so you can take them off and put them back on at the end of the session. It’s easier to do yoga in bare feet. Shoes should be left outside the yoga room in the shoe rack provided. Mats will be provided in the room. If you have your own yoga mat you can bring it with you. It may be advisable to bring a towel for HOT yoga sessions. It can get hot and sweaty! We recommend that you bring a Large bottle of water but we do have a vending machine available at the centre.
What else do I need to know?
Being hydrated will make a big difference to how you feel. Try to drink at least 1-2 litres of water before coming, take water in the class and re-hydrate sufficiently afterwards. Adding in electrolytes (sodium, potassium and magnesium) to your water will help you to rehydrate more effectively. It takes time to acclimatise to the heat, but it’s the heat that holds a lot of the benefits in our more powerful yoga classes! It takes time to acclimatise to the heat so please take it slowly, especially for your first few classes and sit down and rest any time. If you’re getting confused with the instructions you can follow people in front of you or just stop and watch for a while. Don’t worry about keeping up with the pace of the class. It’s your practice. The correct way to breathe is through the nose – it will take a few classes to master, but breath is the key. Please stay in the room for the full duration of the class. Practice in silence throughout and try to only drink between postures if possible. The key is to come regularly in order to acclimatise and receive the benefits… you’ll be amazed at how much progress you can make in just a few weeks!
