My Background

Having always been interested in sport, playing plenty myself this naturally led to an interest in health and fitness. 

Through studying sport science at UCLan I gained a knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, physiology that I wanted to be able to apply to fitness.  During this time I worked with strength and conditioning coaches at Warrington Wolves Rugby League Club.

Since then I have worked as a personal trainer and gym instructor in Preston.  I then went on to study for my Masters degree at Loughborough University, where I specialised further into the biomechanics of injuries.  Whilst studying at Loughborough I worked with some of their S&C coaches and the swim teams, some of which went on to compete at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Since starting at FX I have worked with over a range of clients from injury rehabilitation and general fitness,

Some of my biggest achievements with clients come in the form of rehabilitation. One of which being told surgery was the only option to getting her back running in just 4 months.

Being able to work between a diverse group of clients has been extremely rewarding and I look forward to more challenges coming my way.

Josh is an amazing trainer, his unique style truly pushes you to achieve your goals! I have lifted weights I would never have thought possible and am fitter than I have ever been! He has the patience of saint and has worked hard to educate and encourage me with my diet plan #fussyeater !

Josh is an absolute legend when it comes to training. As someone who has never had much discipline, he's stuck me on the straight and narrow and put up with me being a soft sod at times. My background is fell running and I have done this for many years I have always maintained a pretty good standard but never doing anything with my diet or cross training my results had plateaued and I was unhappy with how I looked and felt. The stages of training were set out perfectly for me to aim at with clear guidance on nutrition when and what to train and what and when to do it, it started with 3 sessions a week with Josh in the gym and a further 2-3 sessions to do by myself but every time I was learning more about how my body works and week on week I was seeing results. I won’t lie sometimes it was a struggle but knowing you have someone with you to guide you and show you how to do things properly keeps you focused on your goals.

The exercise and nutrition plans are specific to you and not a one size fits all. I can’t think of anywhere else I’d rather go to train - FX care and that really is personal training in my book.
