What personal data we collect and why we collect it


When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.


If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

Our website contains multiple contact forms and with the exception of the form found on our Subscription Page, upon submission of these forms, the personal data submitted in these forms is stored on our servers indefinitely. The personal data we store upon submission of our contact form is your IP address, name, email and phone number. Your IP address is stored for security reasons such as being able to add an IP address to a blacklist if multiple spam submissions come from there. Your name, email and phone number are stored for communication purposes; upon submission of the contact form we will likely contact you in the near future in regards to your query, and we need your contact details and name saved in order to do this.

The personal data that is submitted from the Contact Page form is stored indefinitely on our servers for customer service purposes, however, we do not use the data from this particular form for marketing.

The personal data that is submitted from the Subscription Page is not stored on our servers. However, upon submission of this form, your email address, name and phone number will be passed to Mailchimp, who we use as our marketing automation platform. By submitting the subscription form you acknowledge that the information you provide will be transferred to MailChimp for processing in accordance with their Privacy Policy and Terms. The data submitted from the Subscription Page will be stored indefinitely for marketing purposes, and we will use this information in order to contact you in regards to updates/news about our business as well as marketing promotions.


If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Who we share your data with

Upon submission of the form on the Subscription Page, your name, email and phone number will be shared with Mailchimp. For more information about how Mailchimp process personal data, view their Privacy Policy and Terms.

We use a Facebook Feed plugin to display social media content on our website. As a result, our website makes requests to Facebook’s servers in order to display images and videos. These requests make your IP address visible to Facebook, who may use it in accordance with their data privacy policy: https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/update.

Our website integrates with Mindbody to allow users to pay for and book sessions without leaving our website. Upon using the Mindbody integration widgets, your personal data will be shared with Mindbody. How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Any data submitted in a contact form on our website will either be stored on our servers or Mailchimp’s servers indefinitely, this is for customer service purposes and in the case of the data shared with Mailchimp, so we can contact you again in the future. You can view, edit or delete this data by requesting this using our Privacy Contact Form.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.

If you have used a contact form on our website, you can request to receive a copy of the personal data stored by us upon submission of the form(s).

You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
